Eurozone crisis is now political, said Soros

American investor and philanthropist George Soros told the French daily newspaper Le Figaro that the eurozone’s crisis is no longer financial, but political. Though he still sees relevance for the euro, he explained that both France’s growing economic issues and likely deflation are the two main threats against the eurozone’s future. Soros called for more concerted economic policy between the European governments, considering that the European Central Bank (ECB) couldn’t solve the crisis by itself. Summing up, sound policies are now needed more than financial ones.
