“One of the key problems today is that politics is such a disgrace, good people don’t go into government,” once wrote Donald Trump, billionaire real estate developer and host of reality show “The Apprentice”. World famous, strong with assets worth $4 billion according to Forbes in 2014 and followed by 2.82 million people on Twitter, Trump has a very good starting point if he has real presidential ambitions, not to mention that his wife Melania would likely draw crowds as First Lady.
Trump has three weak spots however. First, he’s a rich man and his political adversaries could affirm he has no clue about what’s reality for the average American. Yet most of the Presidents came from wealthy backgrounds. Second, he has been a Democrat for a decade between 2001 and 2009. If there could be Democrats who would credit him for disagreeing with former George W. Bush administration, there could also be Republicans, like Karl Rove, who would not forgive him for that.
Third, Trump fueled some uncertainty in the past about his candidature for the presidential elections. If he looks hesitant again, whatever his final decision, he will have certainly ruined his chances from the outset. Spending over $1 million in 2013 made many people think he will run for good this time. “I don’t have to be politically correct. I don’t have to be a nice person,” Trump wrote a decade ago. Well, Trump will likely change his mind about that if he decides to run for President. Be a doer not a dreamer. Think big Donald.
