US President Donald Trump found the F-35 combat aircraft was too expensive. As a result, the Pentagon and builder Lockheed Martin have agreed on the purchase of 90 aircrafts for nearly USD 8.6 billion, or USD 95 million per aircraft, with a discount of about 7.3 percent compared with prices announced in previous contracts.
