50% more tourists by 2030

Confronted with the growing threat of terrorism, tourism professionals are mobilizing. On the occasion of the World Tourism Forum held on February 16-18, 2017 in Istanbul (Turkey), the tourism industry recalled its significant growth potential as the annual number of tourists worldwide is expected to increase from 1.2 billion to 1.8 billion by 2030 that is an increase of 50% in just 13 years. The sector’s two priorities are the increase in transport and accommodation infrastructure and the fight against terrorism.
