The Front National (FN) jumped from about 17% to almost 40% of the votes in just fifteen years. To save democracy, committed footballers, subsidized actors and so-called “humorists” are organizing demonstrations, concerts and street arts against … Marine Le Pen.
In the middle of the two rounds, in addition to the mainstream media and government which are 100% mobilized behind Emmanuel Macron, these individuals committed themselves to fighting against a candidate who is participating in a Republican election. Not only have they not understood that this is counterproductive, but they also keep denying the evidence that they are protesting against what they claim to be defending.
French politics is decidedly unique in the world. A small question by the way, will State subsidies paid to the associations which demonstrate be included in the campaign accounts of Emmanuel Macron?
