Société Générale to improve its business model’s efficiency

In line with a decision taken in April 2019, French bank Société Générale (GLE) ambitions to improve its quality of service and customer relations by “refocusing on its areas of excellence”. In a statement, GLE announced the creation of a Business Unit Global Banking and Advisory which combines “advisory, capital markets and financing services with the aim to provide the most integrated service offering to the Bank’s clients”. The new organization seeks to simplify market activities around equities and equity derivatives on the one hand, and fixed income and currencies on the other. It’s about ensuring “a profitable and sustainable growth, by improving the client experience and by better meeting their expectations,” said Séverin Cabannes, Deputy Chief Executive Officer.
